Watch a 5-year-old girl shred Van Halen on the drums

One thing we love to do at Drummers I Like is put the spotlight on up and coming drummers.

5-year-old Eduarda Henklein Baterista is a perfect example.

With only a couple years behind the kit it’s amazing at the kind of progress any drummer can make no matter what the age.

We first discovered Eduarda about 4 months ago but her YouTube channel spans the last year and a half with tons of drum covers and coverage of her musical progression. With covers of songs like Pink Floyds ” the Wall “ and System of a downs ” Chop Suey “ it’s no wonder that her chops and technique have become so honed.  I have a 2-year-old myself and I have spent countless hours working on his playing and technique (we make it fun) and I honestly think that a combination of this and being around a father who constantly playing.

We reached out to Eduarda’s YouTube account asking about her playing, any teaching background and of course who in the family she inherited those chops from! We have yet to hear back, but when we do we will update everyone! It’s important to note that Eduarda isn’t just a drummer, but a multi-instrumentalist ( as seen in her Pink Floyd bass/drum cover).

I don’t know about you, but watching this young lady tear it up like this has me wanting to jump into some much-needed practice.
