August Burns Red Messengers 2017 Tour

August Burns Red will be playing the “Messengers” album in full on tour in 2017

For all you Matt Greiner fans, get yourselves excited cause your gonna get to see him take on the entire Messengers album when on tour beginning in January 2017.  The tour will include  Protest the Hero, In Hearts Wake and ’68. So I know all you drummers will be excited about that lineup!

It’s hard for me to believe that Messengers came out 10 years ago but you can’t argue with the calendar! Time flies, that’s for sure! When Messengers came out it instantly went to the top of my playlist. It didn’t matter what tune was on, they are all good! It was also my first exposure to A.B.R. and I haven’t stopped listening since. Composure was my favorite cut on the album but I’m sure everyone has their own opinion. I can tell you that this album had a very adverse effect on my drumming, personally, as a guy that came from a bit more “old school metal” it was one of the first times that I heard progressive rhythms played in a heavy setting like that. I was sold!

When A.B.R. guitarist, J.B. Brubaker, talked about the tour he mentioned some of these songs have never been played live– It’ll be a real treat to hear some of those. Even if you had a chance to see them tour in support of Messengers 10 long years ago, it should be a new experience for you too. Another great thing is the rest of the drummers on this lineup are heavy hitters that should excite all of us drummers as well. Whether it’s Mike Ieradi from Protest the Hero, Connor Ward with In Hearts Wake, or Michael McClellan with the crazy duo of ’68.

For everybody that’s excited about this show. Below is a list of all the stops for the tour so check out when they’ll be near your town. You can purchase your tickets HERE! We here at Drummers I Like will be trying to make to a few of these shows. So we will definitely keep you drummers updated. Leave a comment below and let us know what track is your favorite from Messengers and which songs your really looking forward to hearing live!
