Daily Fill #97: Decluttering your schedule

Welcome to the Tuesday edition of the Daily Fill with our Owner and founder Richard Ducat! Every Tuesday Richard gives us a dose of motivation, guidance, life hacks, marketing tips, and more!

On today’s episode, we start a new a series of podcasts focused on gearing you up for success as a “drumtrepreneur” while giving you guidance, focus, and challenges that will help hold you accountable for success! Our first week is all about getting decluttered and cleaning up your scheduling. This is personally where it all starts for me. The much anticipated Sunday night scheduling session has become more of a stress reliever as it has allowed me to offload my week onto one consistent canvas that can be referenced at any moment.

As I said, the process starts at 9:30 PM every Sunday night when I break out my little black book filled with tasks, weekly notes, and scheduling. As I dig through and organize what was and wasn’t done last week I steadily jot down the tasks that need to be moved into this week. It’s really simple as I am following my tried and true themed day template methods as mentioned in daily fill 91  making sure I am choosing the best times for the different types of tasks I normally have to do.

This little black book is broken up into multiple categories such as family, spouse, parenting, companies, and household needs. From there I list out the mandatory needs of each section breaking tasks down from order of importance followed by checkboxes to fill in progress.. This process probably takes about 30 minutes and is crucial to the weekly process of keeping up with my life. From there I am able to plan my Monday and basically drag and drop my tasks from one physical to digital format. I recently decided to drop my 3 notebook planning process (thanks to completing the mastery journal ) and move to a hybrid format that I picked up from Michael Hyatt.

This process is repeated nightly as I find it healthy to develop a consistent scheduling pattern to keep your head in the game and your mind on your matters. This digital approach also allows me to add reminders and calendar notifications to all my devices to ensure there are no loose ends in my pipeline. I find it very helpful as I am normally a forgetful personal consisting looking for a minute to take a breather and reflect on life (a.k.a. be lazy)

The Weekly Challenge:

For this week’s challenge, I want you to write everything you’d like to get done this week on a sheet of paper with checkboxes, filter them all out into each day of the week revolving around the days that work best for you according to your schedule. After that, you must post an Instagram story or post doing the following:

  1.  Showing you working on our weekly challenge.
  2. Tagging @drummersilike #drummersilike and #drumtrepreneur!

Winners get a free 30-minute consultation call with, 3 months of access to Drummers I Like Pro and a mention on the podcast and an invite to join me on a roundtable with this month’s winners of our contest. I will choose one winner a week during Tuesday episodes of the Daily Fill!

That’s it for today’s episode of the Daily Fill! Tune in next week for more motivation, more guidance and more practical tips that can be applied to your day today!
